Finding Joy in Familiar Routes: A Windy 56-Mile Ride

After the navigation disaster from my last ride, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and stick to a tried-and-true route that I’ve cycled many times before.

The route was 56-mile out from my house to West and East Hanningfield and back again. It’s a ride that I’ve done countless times before, but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. The best part was that the weather was glorious – a sunny late winter, early spring morning.

However, Mother Nature wasn’t making things too easy for me. As I set out, I felt the strong force of a 14-mph headwind. But that’s just the reality of cycling – sometimes, you have to fight the wind to get where you’re going. And it just made the ride all the more challenging and rewarding.

But the best part of the ride was when I finally made it to the halfway point and felt the wind switch directions. Suddenly, I was being propelled forward by a tailwind that felt like a blessing from the cycling gods.

Overall, it was a wonderful ride that reminded me of the joys of cycling. Even when the weather isn’t perfect, there’s something magical about exploring the familiar and seeing it in a new way. And sometimes, even the toughest challenges can lead to the greatest rewards. So if you’re ever feeling lost or uncertain, just take a ride down memory lane – you never know what kind of adventure it might lead to.
