Tubeless take two: New Topeak turboflow valves

I went for a short ride today to help break in the new tubeless rear tyre.

Sealing the tyre the first time proved to be a pain in the proverbials, so I used a TPU inner tube instead. But after it lost pressure a few times, I decided to try tubeless again.

I’d recently treated myself to a pair of the new Topeak high-flow tubeless valves. They’re not exactly cheap, so I was hoping they’d live up to the hype. Designed to increase airflow by up to 300%, they certainly make seating stubborn tyres much easier, and I heard that satisfying pop every cyclist loves when a tubeless tyre finally seats on the rim.

After today’s ride, I’m happy to say the tyre stayed sealed and kept its pressure. Hopefully, that’s the last of the tubeless issues.  Well, for now anyway!
